Meet Our Board
The planetarium is run by a board who are also volunteers and show presenters. They are passionate about sharing their love of astronomy and contributing to the vitality of our community.

Board President
Cristina enjoys astronomy humor, has kissed an astronaut She wears many hats including program planning, publicity, grant writing, and website maintenance.
Dave Hanson
Vice President
Dave is a busy bee working at NOAA and staying up late doing astrophotography. He is our tech guru and presents on a variety of topics.
Secretary and JSD Liaison
Rosemary organizes visits to the planetarium and creates and presents programming relating to the Juneau School District science curriculum. She also helps with varied tasks such as outreach, grant writing, publicity and more.
Steve Kocsis
Treasurer
Steve is interested in cosmology and has been to eight total solar eclipses. He has taught astronomy at UAS.
Quinn White
Board Member
Quinn's interests include the James Webb Space Telescope. He works at the Alaska State Museum.
Saffron
Mascot
She was adopted from the Juneau Animal Shelter and dreams of going to Mars.
