Planetarium shows are best seen on a dome in 360 degrees - they offer a unique immersive experience.  However, many planetarium offer virtual shows. These offerings have greatly expanded during the pandemic. 


Virtual shows are designed or formatted to be shown on a flat screen.. You can watch them on your TV, computer screen or smartphone, 


Most of these events are free, but donations are always appreciated.


Visit the websites, YouTube channels or Facebook pages of planetariums and museums to see what they offering virtually.


Virtual shows may be live and or recorded.

Live Virtual Planetarium Shows

Live events usually offer time for Q & A (via chat). They offer a chance to communicate with experts in the astronomy field and professional planetarium presenters.. 

Most live shows require sign-up in advance to limit number of attendees.. 

Some live shows are recorded for later viewing. Recordings may be available for a limited time or indefinitely. Sometimes, it is not clearly stated if live event will be available for later viewing, so you may want to send an email to find out.

Remember to check time zone and convert to your time zone if needed.
