The does not charge admission. We are funded by grants and donations.

Generous grants and public donations enabled us to purchase a new and fully digital projector upgrading our original analog projector which was 50 years old.

In-Kind Donations

JSD owns planetarium space and pays for things such as insurance, janitorial. internet.

Arranging a classroom field trip to the planetarium

Please contact Rosemary directly. She will contact JSD teachers soon with dates, times and topics for this school year. Field trips by request are also available now. Reach out to her if you have any questions or need funds for busing.

Arranging a show for a community group

Contact Cristina. Let her know the name of your group, age (if applicable) and what you would like to experience. We will try to find a volunteer whose schedule matches yours.

Events Outside Planetarium

We participate in outreach events such as the Maritime Festival.
We occasionally do telescope viewing, weather permitting.
We have a portable planetarium.
